We are seeking an experienced HR Casework Officer to provide practical and professional employee relations support to managers across a range of HR matters. The role is hybrid worked i.e. 3 days office, 2 days at home once the person is fully trained.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, capability, probation and conduct matters.
Provide timely and accurate HR advice to managers, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies and procedures.
Support managers throughout the full case management process, including preparing documentation, correspondence and reports.
Attend formal meetings and hearings to provide procedural guidance and HR advice.
Interpret and apply HR policies consistently and fairly.
Advise on terms and conditions of employment and general workforce-related queries.
Maintain accurate case records and utilise HR systems to support case management and reporting.
Build effective working relationships with managers, employees and trade union representatives.
Ensure all casework is handled confidentially and in accordance with data protection requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience of managing a broad range of complex employee relations casework.
Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
Ability to provide clear, pragmatic and solution-focused advice to managers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience of drafting HR correspondence and reports.
Competent user of Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgement.
CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
